Cecilia Sipos – cello
Cecilia Sipos studied violoncello and Baroque cello in Vienna, Graz, and Linz with leading personalities in the music world, including Angelica May, Rudolf Leopold, Martin Hornstein, and Claire Pottinger-Schmidt.
She is a founding member of the Ensemble Triosonante piano trio. Cecilia has performed in various chamber ensembles at acclaimed festivals, such as the European Festival Weeks in Passau, ImpulsTanz Wien, Styriarte Graz, Grafenegg Summer Festival, Jewish Cultural Festival in Budapest, donauFESTWOCHEN in the Strudengau, and the Retz Festival. She has performed concerts in many countries, both in Europe and further afield, for example in Japan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Georgia. In 2011 she debuted as a soloist in a performance of Dvořák’s Cello Concerto with the Bacău Philharmonic in Italy.
She was a member of the Lower Austria Tonkünstler Orchestra from 2005 to 2019 and of the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra from 2003 to 2004. Currently, she regularly performs in various Baroque ensembles (e.g. L’Orfeo Barockorchester, Haydn Philharmonic, Wiener Akademie, and Bach Consort Wien).
Her first solo CD, entitled contemplation, was released in 2020.
