Rosi Haberl – viola
Rosi Haberl studied violin and Baroque violin at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and qualified as a music teacher at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
At the Gymnasium für Studierende der Musik, a secondary school for music students in Linz, she developed an interest in historical instruments and historically informed performance practice in Michi Gaigg’s class, and by attending various master classes (Andrew Manze, Rachel Podger) and summer academies.
Some years ago she discovered her predilection for the lower string register and went on to study Baroque viola at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, graduating with a master’s degree. After dedicating the initial years of her music career to the Baroque violin, in 2013 she launched her career as a violist. As a member of orchestras such as the L’Orfeo Barockorchester, Wiener Akademie, Bach Consort Wien, Barucco, and Concerto Stella Matutina, she has performed at concert venues in Europe, Asia, and South America. The freelance musician and Feldenkrais® trainer lives in Vienna and Lower Austria.
