Boyana Maynalovska – violin
Born in Bulgaria, Boyana Maynalovska plays the violin, viola, and the viola d’amore. She studied classical violin in Sofia and played in its Classic FM Radio Orchestra. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, she moved to Germany and gained a postgraduate diploma in concert performance at the Würzburg University of Music in 2009. That same year she started studying early music and historically informed performance practice, graduating with a master’s degree in music in 2015. From 2008 to 2014, she was a member of the Philharmonisches Orchester des Landestheaters Coburg.
Boyana continued her studies with Michi Gaigg and Elisabeth Wiesbauer at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and gained a distinction for her master’s degree in Baroque viola in 2018. She completed further postgraduate studies with Enrico Gatti at the Conservatorio di Musica G.B. Martini in Bologna from 2018 to 2021.
Master classes with John Holloway, Simon Standage, and Chiara Banchini provided further inspiration.
Engagements with the Dresden Festival Orchestra, Ensemble 1800, Main-Barockorchester, and Nürnberger Ratsmusik. Numerous radio and CD recordings.
She is currently a member of the L’Orfeo Barockorchester, Ensemble Scaramouche, Biber Consort, Barucco,and The Rossetti Players.
